Punakaiki has a number of local bars and eateries that you may wish to visit. If you intend to self-cater, then you will need to shop in Greymouth or Westport for food, as only basic grocery items are available in Punakaiki.

By Road
Via State Highway 6 [SH6] from the North (Nelson/Picton).
SH73 from the East (Christchurch).
SH6 from the South (glaciers / Wanaka / Queenstown).

By Train
The scenic TranzAlpine train operates daily between Christchurch and Greymouth.

By Plane
